We support young aspiring leaders & improve business environment for youth-led ventures in Africa through access to finance, entrepreneurship training and technical support.
We shape our strategic priorities by listening to both local and global experts, drawing on the extensive network of advisory boards that support our programs. This decentralized structure allows us to pursue long term strategies and to respond effectively to community needs that require emergency funding.
The Regional Board works with our leadership to develop and review strategies. The regional board is supported by the Network Advisory council whose members come from the expert boards that support each of our programs and organizations. The Program Board solicits and reviews proposals from eligible organizations and awards funding accordingly. The leadership of STIF consists of born again Christians who believe in charity work as a way of doing the will of God.
We work mainly through youth groups and young leaders. Our strategy of working through partnerships is intended to build institutional capacity of groups, supporting youth leadership and ensuring that the funding provided meets the needs of the target beneficiaries and is culturally relevant. In doing so, we encourage grantees to forge collaborations and partnerships with local and national government agencies to enhance sustainability of the projects.
The groups we support must have defined activities, realistic objectives and clear outcomes. They should be dully registered and operating in any of the following 4 countries;
Uganda
Tanzania
Kenya
South Sudan
Our President, Dr. Mark Ballen and eight-member management committee oversee the day to day work of our thematic and geographic programs. They also provide support and guidance to our global network of autonomous national, regional and local partner organizations.
We also collaborate with other grant makers and international agencies working in our focus areas. Where necessary, we leverage additional funding from other sources to support partner’s initiatives.
